The Aristocrats North America Tour Dates Drop!

(from our press release) The Aristocrats are so excited to announce DUCK North American tour dates for this summer!

Having recently wrapped an exclusive run of completely sold out dates on the west coast of the United States (the “Duckling” tour) around the DUCK album’s release, guitarist Guthrie Govan, bassist Bryan Beller and drummer Marco Minnemann will now bring their trademark musical virtuosity and inherent absurdity back to stages all across the United States, as well as Canada and Mexico. They’ll be playing (and perhaps even explaining) a sizeable chunk of their new album DUCK, as well as classic cuts from their five-album catalogue.

Of the upcoming tour, Guthrie commented, “Our new concept album tells the tale of a Duck who travels thousands of miles from his home on a small island and ultimately finds himself in the US… As the sole UK-based member of The Aristocrats, I’m particularly looking forward to retracing his anatine steps this summer!”. Marco adds, “It was exciting experiencing the great response and equally great fun we had taking our newest ‘Duck’ material briefly out on the road for a test drive. I cannot express more how much I look forward to presenting our most recent offerings to all of you wonderful people around the globe.” Bryan concludes, “We’re extremely proud of the DUCK album, but live onstage is where our music always truly comes alive. With that said: North America, we’ll see you soon!”

Pitchfork: Beyoncé’s Lemonade Vinyl Mispressed With Songs by Canadian Punk Band Zex

This month saw the official vinyl release of Lemonade, Beyoncé’s massive 2016 album. Some of those who received their orders, however, may have been taken aback when they dropped the needle on Side A of the lemon-yellow vinyl record. According to a Facebook post from Canadian punk band Zex, the A-Side of their recent album Uphill Battle (featuring songs such as “Burn the Flag,” “Child Soldier,” and “No Sanctuary”) appears on the opening side of Lemonade, where tracks like “Hold Up” should be. Watch videos of the mispressed record playing below. A representative for Magic Bullet Records, which released Uphill Battle, confirmed the legitimacy of the mispressed LP. Columbia Records sent Pitchfork the following statement:

Due to human error at the Celebrate Records plant in Germany, which Sony uses to manufacture vinyl, a small amount of the European run of the Beyoncé Lemonade vinyl included music from Canadian punk band, ZEX, on Side A. Beyoncé and ZEX were not aware of or responsible for the mispress. Fans who purchased the vinyl will be refunded and given a replacement copy. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

The accidental Zex/Beyoncé split LP follows a recent mispress where Queens of the Stone Age songs appeared on a new album by Gordi. “I anticipate either people won’t notice or they’ll appreciate the dynamic shift,” Gordi joked about the incident.

REBUILDER – Punk/Hardcore Artist of the Year nominee for the 2016 Boston Music Awards

Rebuilder have toured extensively in 2016 and they will be playing with Dropkick Murphys on 3/17 @ House of Blues Boston

Rebuilder | Rock & Roll in America | LP

2016 Boston Music Awards Punk Hardcore Artist of the Year nominee Rebuilder! Their latest album as described on Punknews.org: “Is there such a thing as mature pop-punk? If so, then Rebuilder are one of the best bands doing it. Their 2013 self-titled EP was a pleasant surprise and showed they had the chops to go far. Two years down the line and it seems that they’ve decided to explore a bit more and open up towards a sound that’s a bit more dynamic than Rebuilder — and in doing so, they show that they’re fully ready to travel the long road and make it theirs. This album’s more wholesome and feels like a sonic shift in the right direction — one that’s riskier and bolder, but still cultivates a sound that doesn’t shy away from the melodic punk prominent on their previous stuff. Rock & Roll In America is rife with passion, charisma and ultimately, it’s a big move up for this Boston-based unit.” -Punknews.org
