The Big Cover-Up marks the beginning of Big Curve Music’s signature compilation series, bringing together artists from across the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia independent music community to pay tribute to the songs that shaped them. Named after the iconic “Big Curve” on the Capital Beltway—where Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia converge—the label celebrates the creativity and collaborative spirit of the DMV music scene. This inaugural volume features Big Curve Music artists including 51 Peg, Landis Harry Larry, Steep Steps, Nova Koloso, The Neuro Farm, Idiot Code, Dingleberry Dynasty, Project: Leviathen, Year Of The Fist, and Hollowboy, each putting a fresh spin on songs by Billy Idol, Starship, Alice In Chains, Black Sabbath, Joy Division, Creedence Clearwater Revival, AC/DC, Echo & the Bunnymen, Butthole Surfers, and The Cure. Rather than simply recreating familiar recordings, each band brings its own personality and musical perspective, resulting in performances that honor the originals while standing confidently on their own. More than a compilation of cover songs, The Big Cover-Up is a celebration of musical influence, artistic community, and the friendships that continue to define one of America’s most vibrant regional music scenes.
