“In Case I Die” serves as something of a spiritual successor to Will Wood’s densely arranged “In case I make it,” by taking songs from the 2022 release and showcasing them in a vulnerable solo live setting alongside songs from across his discography, as well as a handful of unreleased tunes.

With his signature baritone ukulele and piano, Wood reveals more about the songs and the man behind them by performing them in an impassioned but minimal manner, and unlike many live albums, they sound nothing like what’s on the original record.

The double LP reflects a unique moment in Wood’s career, having been recorded on tour just before Wood announced an indefinite hiatus from his career due to creative burnout from years of grinding and the stress of difficulties with obsessive fans following an unwitting viral moment.
