Various | Locked in the Basement Collection 3

Description

Locked in the Basement Collection 3 brings together 20 band-selected live tracks originally released across a limited ten-volume split cassette series, documenting a wide cross section of DIY underground music in one basement-recorded collection. Recorded by Jimmy Wolff in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania during 2025 and 2026, the compilation features FTS, Wipes, Sweepers, Wealth Gap, Headzo, Duel, Hot Mañana, Peaceful Human Euthanization, Psychopomp, Subtle Body, Added Brains, Drillpress, Shirthole, Chemical-X, Kathook, Onderrock, This Temper, Vulturepeak, 1-800 Bitch and Vesuvian. Each band chose the track that represents them on the record, giving the collection the feel of a scene-built document rather than a conventional label sampler. The result moves through punk, hardcore, noise rock, post-punk and heavier experimental territory while keeping the immediacy of a live basement recording at the center of the release. Side A opens with FTS and runs through Subtle Body, while Side B begins with Added Brains and closes with Vesuvian, creating a twenty-song snapshot of bands operating across different corners of the independent underground. The recordings were mastered for vinyl by Matt Molchany at Shards Recording Studio in Bethlehem, with album art by Jake Hoisington. Collection 3 continues the spirit of the original cassette project while giving these performances a permanent home on vinyl. Raw, direct and intentionally unpolished in spirit, Locked in the Basement is about documenting bands in the kind of space where underground music often feels most alive: close, loud and without distance between the performers and the room. Co-released by DCxPC Live, a label focused on documenting live underground music on vinyl, this edition turns the cassette series into a full-length collection built for listeners who want the energy of the room preserved in the grooves. Pressed on translucent grape vinyl with black splatter to match the release’s basement-built aesthetic.
