The Goons | No Leaders

Description

Originally released in 2000 on American Punk Records, No Leaders captures The Goons charging deeper into the fast, confrontational hardcore punk that established the Washington, D.C.-area band in the underground scene.
Following their 1998 debut album Living in America, The Goons returned with 12 short, aggressive tracks including “White Tide,” “Media Bombardment,” “Self Destruct,” “Taking Back Your World,” “Ozone Alert,” “Hey You” and “I Want It All.” Clocking in at just over 21 minutes, No Leaders wastes little time, delivering the compact, high-energy attack that became central to the band’s sound. THE GOONS
Formed in the Washington, D.C. area in the 1990s, The Goons built an underground following through relentless live performances and touring. Their sound drew comparisons to bands including Dead Kennedys, New Bomb Turks and Keith Morris-era Black Flag, while their approach was characterized as high-octane, aggressive hardcore punk. The band would follow No Leaders with Nation in Distress in 2003 and continued touring nationally, including an appearance on the 2004 Warped Tour. Black Cat
Big Curve Music re-released No Leaders on CD on February 28, 2023, returning the original 2000 recording to physical release in new Digipack packaging. No remixing or remastering was done—the music remains the original recording, preserving a fast, raw snapshot of The Goons and Washington-area hardcore punk at the turn of the millennium.
