Description

Santa Christ was the singular studio creation of musician and accomplished tattoo artist Wayne Crowther—a crushing, unpredictable collision of industrial metal, experimental heavy rock, electronic noise, punk aggression, dark humor and outright absurdity. Heavy riffs and mechanical rhythms collide with synths, samples, abrupt stylistic turns and Crowther’s own warped musical language across 16 tracks that rarely behave the way a rock song is supposed to.

Billed as “The Greatest Band That Never Was,” Santa Christ was never a traditional band and never performed live. Instead, Crowther created the project in the studio with help from a small circle of fellow musicians and friends. The resulting album was proudly described in its original promotional copy as “a tangy mélange of flagrant self indulgence and mental masturbation”—a description entirely appropriate for a project that existed on its own terms.

Released by Big Curve Music on October 15, 2021, Die, Santa Christ, Die! was written and performed under the Santa Christ name and produced, mixed and mastered by Kleetus and Hollowboy. Crowther passed away approximately a year after the album’s release, leaving Die, Santa Christ, Die! as the defining document of his singular Santa Christ creation.
