Description

Baltimore dark synth rock veterans 51 Peg return with Cut The Wire, a three-song EP that combines the band’s heavy alternative rock foundation with brooding electronics, atmospheric synths, and industrial and post-punk influences. Across “Cut The Wire,” “Thread,” and “Alternate Scene,” the band balances aggressive guitars and driving rhythms with layered electronic textures and Jeff Sargent’s distinctive vocals.

The EP features Jeff Sargent on vocals, Carlo Pizarro on guitars and bass, Brian Fasani on drums and additional synths, and Tim Phillips on synths. All three songs were written and produced by 51 Peg. The EP was mixed and mastered by Tony Correlli at The Deep End Studio in Baltimore, Maryland, with Correlli also engineering the drums. Vocal sessions were produced by Marcus Davis at Triple Wide Studios in Tucson, Arizona.

Originally released by the band on May 1, 2020, Cut The Wire was released by Big Curve Music on September 1, 2021, bringing this chapter of 51 Peg’s dark, atmospheric sound to the Big Curve catalog.
