Description
Original score composed by Mario Sévigny, who drew inspiration from classic horror soundtracks of the era while creating a unique auditory experience.
“Working with Mario on *The Sacrifice Game* was a joy. His incredible music captures the horror, thrills, and dread of our story, intertwined with a sweeping romantic feeling of mystery,” said director Jenn Wexler.
Composer Sévigny expressed excitement about collaborating with Wexler, highlighting the diverse instrumentation in the score, including girls’ choirs, haunting bells, electric guitars, and orchestral foundations. Utilizing 70s-era recording techniques, Sévigny ensures the film’s soundtrack immerses the audience in the period’s atmospheric essence.
The film’s standout “demonic dance” sequence includes an original song by composer/performer Antoni Maiovvi titled “Twilight of the Flesh,” reminiscent of early 70s occult rock. This track complements Sévigny’s score and may evoke a desire to move along with its infectious rhythm.
