Description
Incendiary Device (I.D.) was born from the ever-burgeoning hardcore and punk scene in New York City. It was founded by NYHC journeyman, documentarian, and filmmaker Drew Stone (vocals), and Tristan D’Graves (bass). Incendiary Device’s music is steeped in early hardcore and classic punk. However, it inescapably maintains the edge and grit of their New York roots.
Heavily influenced by Minor Threat, Negative Approach, SSD, and early Black Flag, Stone and D’Graves share a rich musical history. They have played and toured together for over a decade in several New York-based bands. These include Antidote and The High & The Mighty.
Rounding out the 4-piece are guitarist Will Romeo (Neckscars / Crippled Earn / Enziguri) and drummer Mike Flaherty (Car Bomb Parade / United Blood). Both cut their teeth playing many a hardcore punk matinee.
Since breaking out in 2022, Incendiary Device has quickly made a sizable mark on the NYHC scene. They have built a devoted fan base and consistently played many of the city’s premier venues. These venues include Irving Plaza, The Brooklyn Bowl, and The Bowery Electric.
2023 saw the release of their 12-track self-titled album, which captured the energy and rage of NYHC with a hook-laden songwriting sensibility. This separated them from their peers.
Meanwhile, in 2025, the band signed with Demons Run Amok for their sophomore release. It was produced once again by the band and Neal “Zum” Ostberg (Fryette and Sound City amplification). The album was also mixed by Dan Korneff (My Chemical Romance, Lamb Of God, The Devil Wears Prada).
Incendiary Device has toured nationally and shared the stage with Biohazard, Madball, Sheer Terror, Fang, Gogol Bordello, Sworn Enemy, Rebelmatic, 7 Seconds, Negative Approach, Leftover Crack, and The Take.
They have also played the premier festivals, including Punk Rock Bowling, Crash Fest, Savage Mountain Punk Festival, and The Upstage Music Fest.
