At first listen, Kromanauts’ Legwork/Lie to Myself 7″ sounds like a departure from the “Tropical Soul” of their earlier work, but it showcases the band’s versatility in blending different genres. On side A, “Legwork,” blends rock and Go-go with a unique twist. The band collaborated with legendary D.C. percussionist Winko, adding a dynamic and energetic element to the track. On side B, “Lie to Myself,” the band delves into a more 80s-inspired sound, with a guitar and synth-driven melody with Kanjia Kroma’s emotive vocals.
