Description
ORLOK’S PLAGUE emanates eerie, haunting, old-school death metal from its black heart, harkening listeners back to the genesis of extreme metal, but forged with modern-era technologies. A tribute to the legacy of the 1922 silent German expressionist vampire film Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, and the genre it created, the lyrical themes of ORLOK’S PLAGUE center on lesser-known horror movies – the kind of films that one would dub to VCR tapes in Extended Play speed in the twilight of the 20th century. ORLOK’S PLAGUE is a coalition of mid-Atlantic musicians that come together on the winter solstice to create auditory horror. Complex layers of guitar strings intensify and complement the thundering drums, while the deep, guttural vocals bind the instruments together with sinister precision. Jupiter’s Killbox is the initial single from the forthcoming EP “Grisly Hallucinations”. The EP is dedicated to the memory of guitarist Darrell Creel (RIP). Jupiter’s Killbox is inspired by the 1977 movie “The Hills Have Eyes”.
