Description
At the height of the pandemic, podcasters Mayfield & Belov approached Will Wood to commission him to compose for an upcoming show entitled “Camp Here & There.” Interestingly, Will found himself exploring here and there, probing both his creative potential and composing skills. The podcast had not been recorded yet. As if that weren’t enough, Wood couldn’t read sheet music. However, Wood accepted the challenge and began to teach himself new methods of writing. These methods would allow him to compose music note-for-note in ways that his days as a bandleader had not yet prepared him for.
M&B provided notes and concept art they had developed. This allowed Wood to learn about the stories and characters. Through his journey here and there, he drew on his life experiences and the insights he gained about the show. Thus, he created a collection of both score and original songs that began as simple background music.
This album contains both instrumental music and four original songs. These include “Yes, to Err is Human, So Don’t Be One,” and “Your Body, My Temple.” His compositions have been appreciated by listeners who ponder where Will Wood camps and the music he produces here and there.
