Description
We are pleased to introduce some of the world’s most unusual music through the sound recording of Arnold Mars, a musical genius who has deeply influenced many. Mars has been recognized with awards like the Televiews magazine accolade for “Outstanding Male Personality and Musical Instrumentalist” and the Look magazine award for “Most Talented and Versatile Composer/Arranger in the World.” His remarkable talent was evident from an early age, as he began duplicating songs at just two years and four months old. Mars’s father ensured he received English tutoring, where his extraordinary ability to reproduce compositions played by the Masters on the piano was confirmed–despite having no prior training and being limited by his small hands. After touring Europe and spending time in England and Timbuktu, Mars returned to America and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon his return, he further honed his skills under exceptional tutors and eventually attended the University of Chicago. Though much more could be written about Mars’s life, our focus here is on his musical genius. His recording, “Lost Island,” showcases his creativity and transcends ordinary life struggles, imparting peace, harmony, and beauty to listeners. Along with composing and arranging the pieces on this album, Arnold Mars is featured as a piano soloist.
